Where it came from
BrickJournal, founded by Joe Meno, serves as the primary print magazine dedicated to the adult fan of LEGO (AFOL) community. Issue 42 was released as part of the publication’s ongoing mission to chronicle the intersection of professional LEGO design and hobbyist creativity. It focuses on the evolving techniques used by builders to push the boundaries of the plastic brick medium, reflecting a period where the community transitioned from simple modular sets to complex, museum-grade sculptural works.
The editorial direction of this issue emphasizes the craftsmanship behind custom builds and the artistic vision of featured creators. The design layout remains consistent with the magazine's established aesthetic, prioritizing high-resolution photography and technical walkthroughs meant to inspire builders of varying skill levels. Like much of the series, this issue was received as a reference tool for enthusiasts seeking to understand the architectural and mechanical challenges inherent in large-scale LEGO model construction.
