BrickJournal Issue 59

BrickJournal, edited by Joe Meno, emerged as the premiere print magazine dedicated to the LEGO hobbyist community, providing an intersectional look at fan-created builds, design interviews, and industry news. Issue 59, part of the magazine’s long-running publication history under TwoMorrows Publishing, focuses on the creative techniques and architectural challenges faced by builders attempting to capture complex structures in plastic form. It reflects a period where the publication shifted toward highlighting the intersection of professional LEGO design and the sophisticated output of the adult fan community.

The editorial vision for this issue aimed to document the evolution of building styles, specifically emphasizing the transition from simple block-based aesthetics to more nuanced, detailed modeling. Like its predecessors, the design and layout are intended to mimic the clean, visual-heavy style of specialty enthusiast publications. It was received as a standard reference point for builders looking for inspiration and technical breakdown of construction methods, maintaining its status as a niche but respected chronicle of modern brick-based artistry.
