Where it came from
BrickJournal is a long-standing periodical dedicated to the adult fan of Lego (AFOL) community, acting as a bridge between official company updates and the creative efforts of independent builders. Issue 78 continues this tradition by highlighting intricate fan-made builds, techniques, and the cultural evolution of brick-based artistry. Published by TwoMorrows Publishing, the magazine was established to provide a sophisticated editorial platform for a hobby that transitioned from a childhood pastime to a global art form, documenting everything from modular city construction to complex mechanical engineering with bricks.
The design philosophy of BrickJournal emphasizes high-quality photography and detailed interviews, aiming to showcase the technical proficiency and aesthetic vision of prominent community members. By focusing on the 'how-to' aspect of building, each issue, including number 78, functions as both a portfolio and a manual for enthusiasts. It has been well-received by the collector community for its consistent commitment to celebrating the creativity of the individual builder, providing a permanent record of fleeting convention displays and digital models that might otherwise be lost to time.
