Where it came from
The Butterfly Girl was released in 2017 as part of the LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 17, which is identified by the set number 71018. This series continued the long-standing tradition of offering unique, non-licensed character designs sold in blind bags, allowing collectors to assemble a diverse range of imaginative figures. The Butterfly Girl was designed as a whimsical, nature-inspired character featuring a specialized molded wing piece that attaches to the torso, showcasing the brand's ongoing commitment to intricate, character-driven accessory design.
The figure was well-received by the enthusiast community for its detailed printing and the aesthetic appeal of its translucent, patterned wings. Designers sought to create a visually striking character that felt distinct from previous fantasy-themed minifigures, blending organic elements with the iconic plastic geometry of the system. Like other figures in the series, it became a sought-after piece due to its high level of detail and its utility in creating custom, creative displays.
