Cactus Girl

The Cactus Girl minifigure was released in 2018 as part of the LEGO Minifigures Series 18, a collection specifically curated to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the LEGO minifigure. This series deviated from the standard format by featuring characters dressed in elaborate costumes, leaning into the whimsical nature of previous novelty themes. The design centers on a molded cactus element that fits over the torso, successfully blending botanical aesthetics with the expressive, cartoonish charm characteristic of the collectible minifigure line.

The figure was designed by the LEGO internal creative team, who sought to emphasize playfulness and creative expression through unique headpieces. Upon its release, it was well-received by the adult collector community and children alike, largely due to its distinct, vibrant appearance and the clever integration of the prickly succulent costume. As part of a series that was notoriously difficult to complete due to the blind-bag distribution model, the Cactus Girl became a standout piece for its colorful, imaginative aesthetic.
