Where it came from
The Cad Bane character magnet, released under set number 853127-1, emerged during the height of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. LEGO produced these character magnets as part of their broader merchandise strategy to bridge the gap between building sets and collectable figures, offering fans a way to display their favorite characters on metallic surfaces. The figure itself captures the iconic bounty hunter's wide-brimmed hat and dual-blaster aesthetic, which were meticulously translated into the minifigure scale to match the character's appearance in the 2008 series.
The design of this minifigure reflects the distinctive stylistic choices of the Clone Wars animation, which simplified character features while maintaining high levels of recognizable detail. While individual magnets from this era were widely available at retail, they are noted among collectors for their integrated construction; the figures were permanently affixed to the magnetic base, a design choice intended to ensure durability for younger users but one that has since become a point of specific interest for adult collectors seeking to preserve the integrity of the release.
