Cat Peach Suit and Frozen Tower

The Cat Peach Suit and Frozen Tower set, released in 2022 as part of the LEGO Super Mario expansion range, was designed to integrate with the interactive LEGO Mario, Luigi, or Peach starter courses. The set builds upon the Super Mario 3D World aesthetic, specifically featuring the iconic Cat Suit power-up that allows the digital figure to climb vertical surfaces. Its design team focused on creating modular, stackable platforms that replicate the verticality of the game's tower levels, incorporating mechanical play features like a sliding coin block and a costume-triggered reaction for the Peach figure.

Upon release, the set was received as a functional addition to the broader LEGO Super Mario ecosystem, valued primarily for its interactive play mechanics rather than as a traditional display model. The designers utilized a bright, high-contrast color palette consistent with Nintendo’s source material to ensure visual recognizability. It fits into the wider strategy of merging physical block-based play with digital sensor technology, allowing players to unlock unique sounds and visual feedback through the LEGO figure's internal electronics when interacting with the Cat Suit included in the box.
