Where it came from
The Chocolatier set, identified as 71052, was released as part of the LEGO DC Super Heroes collection, specifically designed as a detailed interior module for the larger The Joker Manor set. It was created to expand the narrative play features of the Manor, providing a whimsical and slightly dark aesthetic that aligns with the eccentric characterization of the Joker in the 2017 feature film, The LEGO Batman Movie. The design focuses on colorful confectionery elements contrasted with the signature purple and green color palette associated with the character.
This modular section was conceived by LEGO designers to capture the film's playful interpretation of Gotham City's most infamous villain. It utilizes specialized printed elements and translucent bricks to mimic sugar work and machinery, intended to evoke a high-energy, chaotic candy-making facility. Upon release, the set was praised by builders for its creative part usage and its ability to seamlessly integrate into the broader structural layout of the main Joker Manor build, serving as a standout example of the theme's attention to film-accurate detail.
