Where it came from
The LEGO Technic Concrete Mixer Truck, set 42112, was released in 2020 as a sophisticated addition to the long-standing Technic line. Designed to capture the mechanical complexity of industrial construction machinery, the model features a rotating mixing drum that can be operated both manually and through an integrated gearbox, allowing users to observe the gear ratios and structural engineering principles inherent in heavy-duty vehicles.
The design emphasizes realism and functional fidelity, mirroring the aesthetic and operational characteristics of standard concrete transport vehicles found on global construction sites. Upon its release, the set was noted by the adult collector community for its robust chassis and the inclusion of various accessory pieces, such as poured 'concrete' bricks, which added a layer of interactive play to its technical educational value.
