Where it came from
The Condrai Copter Attack, set number 70746-1, was released by The LEGO Group in 2015 as part of the Ninjago: Tournament of Elements theme. It depicts a confrontation between the serpentine Anacondrai cultists and the ninja Kai, featuring a distinct helicopter design inspired by the snake-themed aesthetic of the series. The set reflects the brand's ongoing effort to blend fantasy narratives with complex buildable vehicles that offer play functions, such as flick-fire missiles and a rotating cockpit.
The design team at LEGO developed the Anacondrai aesthetic to feature organic, serpentine curves mixed with rugged mechanical parts to suggest a repurposed or improvised origin for the villains' technology. Upon its debut, the set was well-received by fans for its inclusion of unique minifigures like Skylor and Chen, which were pivotal to the season's storyline. It remains a representative example of the mid-2010s era of Ninjago, characterized by vibrant color palettes and a focus on modular play sets.
