Where it came from
The Cool Santa Set, released under set number 40000-1, was produced as a seasonal promotional item. It represents a stylistic departure from traditional holiday depictions, focusing on a more stylized, minimalist aesthetic that emerged as part of the broader trend toward compact, character-focused builds. This set was designed to capture a whimsical take on the holiday mascot, prioritizing distinct, clean lines and a playful interpretation of classic seasonal imagery.
The design follows the conventions of small-scale character sets that prioritize accessibility and charm. It was created to serve as an approachable holiday gift, reflecting a shift in the brand's strategy to include more niche, decorative pieces in their lineup. Upon its release, it was well-received by collectors who appreciate budget-friendly, standalone models that provide a festive addition to holiday displays without the complexity of larger, narrative-driven sets.
