Where it came from
The LEGO Duplo curved track set, identified as 2735-1, was introduced as an essential expansion component for the Duplo train system. Designed to facilitate more complex track layouts, these pieces allowed younger builders to transition from simple straight lines to ovals and circular configurations. The pieces are constructed from durable, larger-scale plastic components specifically engineered for toddler safety and ease of assembly.
This track design reflects the core Duplo philosophy of fostering spatial awareness and fine motor skills in early childhood development. By maintaining compatibility across the wider Duplo rail ecosystem, the design ensured that sets from different eras could be integrated, a hallmark of the manufacturer's long-term commitment to modularity and play value. The design focuses on robust, snap-fit connections that endure the rough handling typical of its intended demographic.
