Where it came from
The Cyren minifigure was released in 2016 as part of the LEGO Ninjago theme's 'Skybound' wave, specifically appearing in the Misfortune's Keep set. As a member of Nadakhan's sky pirate crew, Cyren serves as a secondary antagonist designed to reflect the steampunk-inspired, airborne aesthetic of the season. The character features distinct blue-toned printing and hair elements that align with the pirate-themed motifs established for the villainous faction during this narrative arc.
The design of Cyren was executed by the LEGO Ninjago development team to translate the specific visual language of the Skybound season into minifigure form. The character's inclusion was intended to flesh out the diverse ranks of the sky pirate crew, providing a foil to the core ninja cast. Within the broader context of the Ninjago franchise, the character is recognized by collectors for its unique color palette and the specific molded accessories that define the Skybound antagonists.
