Where it came from
Released in 2024 as part of the LEGO Jurassic World line, this set was designed to cater to both fans of the franchise and collectors of paleontological-themed builds. It reflects the ongoing trend of merging cinematic iconography with interactive display pieces, offering a detailed, brick-built representation of the T. rex skeleton that emphasizes structural accuracy alongside playability features common to the theme.
The set design focuses on posability, allowing users to articulate the skull and limbs to mimic the dynamic nature of fossil displays found in natural history museums. By stripping the subject matter down to its skeletal structure, the designers moved away from the typical vibrant green or brown molded figures of the line, opting instead for a monochromatic aesthetic that prioritizes the architectural complexity of the bones.
