Where it came from
Released in 2023 as part of the LEGO City modular buildings sub-theme, this set represents a significant shift toward more complex, urban-focused designs within the City line. It was created to provide a dense, multi-functional city block that serves as a centerpiece for collectors, incorporating modular connectivity that allows it to integrate with other sets in the same series, reflecting a modern architectural approach to the classic plastic brick urban landscape.
The design team focused on creating a vibrant, mixed-use environment, featuring a park, a communal area, and various retail storefronts. By utilizing a wide footprint and multiple stories, the set aims to balance playability for children with the aesthetic detail appreciated by adult collectors. It has been noted for its colorful facade and the inclusion of a wide array of minifigures, which together define the contemporary iteration of the long-running LEGO City theme.
