Where it came from
The DRAGON-1 set emerged as a standalone curiosity within the broader category of collectible figurines, crafted to capture a stylized, archetypal representation of its namesake creature. It was developed during a period of rising interest in independent character design, where the focus shifted toward sculptural minimalism and distinctive silhouettes rather than strictly adhering to existing media franchises.
The design emphasizes a balance between angular geometry and fluid, organic curves, reflecting a deliberate attempt by the design team to create an aesthetic that felt both timeless and contemporary. Upon its release, the set was noted by collectors for its unique production material and the thoughtful integration of its modular components, which allowed for a degree of expressive posing rarely seen in similar decorative objects of the era.
