Where it came from
Released in 2012 as a promotional polybag set, Dragon Fight was issued to coincide with the initial expansion of the LEGO Ninjago theme. These small, accessible sets were typically distributed at retail events or as promotional gifts with purchase, designed to provide a quick building experience that highlighted the core conflict between the ninja protagonists and the skeletal or serpentine antagonists of the era.
The design of the set centers on a compact, brick-built dragon head or small creature encounter, reflecting the aesthetic shift toward stylized, action-oriented play common in early Ninjago offerings. As a promotional item, it serves as a snapshot of the theme's early attempts to integrate character-focused combat into smaller, more affordable price points, appealing primarily to fans looking to complete their collection of polybag variants.
