Where it came from
Drome Racers for Microsoft Windows, released in 2002, was part of a multimedia expansion of the Lego Drome Racers theme. Developed by Attention to Detail and published by Electronic Arts, the game was designed to capitalize on the popularity of high-speed racing titles during the early 2000s, blending the aesthetic of custom Lego vehicles with arcade-style physics and track environments.
The game received mixed critical reception at the time of its release. While reviewers often praised the ability to customize vehicles using virtual Lego bricks, many noted that the driving mechanics were somewhat simplistic compared to other dedicated racing simulators of the era. Despite these limitations, it remains a notable example of Lego's efforts to integrate physical play sets with interactive digital experiences.
