Gift Package

The 700-1-2 Gift Package, released in 1957, represents a transitional era in the company's early history. It was designed to consolidate various small building sets into a cohesive gift offering, reflecting the brand's shift toward creating more substantial, multi-faceted play experiences during the mid-twentieth century. This package served as a foundational item, introducing many families to the modular construction system that would eventually define the company's international identity.

The aesthetic of this set is rooted in the minimalist industrial design principles of the post-war period, emphasizing functional geometry and a limited color palette. Created during a time when the manufacturing process was still being refined, the set displays the simple, sturdy craftsmanship that prioritized longevity and iterative play. It was received as a reliable educational tool, noted for its ability to encourage spatial reasoning in children, and remains a significant artifact for collectors documenting the brand's evolution before the standardization of its modern brick system.
