Where it came from
The Goliath minifigure, released in 2023 as part of the LEGO Minifigures Disney 100 series, draws inspiration from the character featured in the cult-classic animated series Gargoyles. This set represented a significant departure from standard packaging, utilizing a cardboard blind box system rather than traditional plastic bags, which allowed for a more sustainable approach while maintaining the element of surprise for collectors.
The figure was meticulously designed to capture the imposing aesthetic of the leader of the Manhattan Clan, featuring unique molded elements for his expansive wings and specialized printing to replicate his muscular, stoic appearance. As a representation of a beloved 1990s intellectual property, the minifigure was highly anticipated by fans of the original animation, receiving praise for its attention to detail and its role in reintroducing the franchise to a contemporary audience.
