Where it came from
The LEGO Halloween Pumpkin, set 40697-1, was released in 2024 as part of the Creator seasonal line. These small-scale builds are designed to provide accessible, festive decor that captures the essence of holiday traditions through a simplified, brick-built aesthetic. The model focuses on a classic jack-o'-lantern design, utilizing orange-hued elements and a printed face piece to evoke a sense of seasonal charm suitable for a desk or shelf display.
The design follows the established language of LEGO seasonal promotional sets, which prioritize efficient piece counts and clear, identifiable shapes. By balancing standard plates and curved slopes, the designers aimed for a recognizable silhouette that retains the iconic modular quality of the brand. As a contemporary seasonal release, the set was received as a welcoming, low-barrier entry point for collectors looking to integrate holiday-themed builds into their homes during the autumn season.
