Where it came from
The MMMB003-1 Heart was produced as part of a specialized series of modular design objects intended to explore minimalist aesthetic representation. Created during a period of renewed interest in geometric abstraction within home decor, the piece was conceptualized to serve as both a tactile desk object and a sculptural element. The design focus prioritized clean lines and a weighted, singular form, moving away from overly literal depictions of anatomy toward a stylized, universal icon of sentiment.
The development of this piece was overseen by the design team responsible for the broader MMMB series, who sought to maintain a cohesive material language across disparate shapes. Upon its release, the Heart was noted by design critics for its restrained finish and versatile scale. While it did not reach a level of widespread commercial fame, it gained a dedicated following among collectors of mid-tier modern design who valued its understated profile and consistent manufacturing quality.
