Where it came from
Released in 2008 as part of the LEGO promotional series, the Heart (set 2008-1) was designed as a small, seasonal polybag building kit. It reflects the company's tradition of offering accessible, low-piece-count models that serve as functional or decorative items, often distributed during retail promotions or special events to encourage brand engagement among younger builders and gift-givers.
The design utilizes standard brick geometry to form a recognizable heart shape, prioritizing simplicity and structural stability over complex building techniques. While the specific designer remains uncredited—as is standard for promotional polybags of this era—the set was well-received for its clean aesthetic and versatility, providing a classic example of how limited components can be used to achieve iconic, universally understood forms.
