Heartlake Hair Salon

Released in 2015 as part of the Lego Friends theme, the Heartlake Hair Salon was designed to broaden the play experiences available in the fictional city of Heartlake. This set reflected Lego's strategy to create detailed, character-driven environments that encouraged roleplay, featuring the characters Emma and Natasha. The design focuses on a modular storefront with accessories like hair tools, styling chairs, and a wig station, aiming to provide a realistic miniature setting for children interested in fashion and creative grooming.

The set followed the established aesthetic of the Friends line, which introduced unique color palettes and specialized figures that differed from traditional minifigures. Designers prioritized the inclusion of diverse accessories and functional play features, such as the rotating styling chair and the washing station, to enhance the tactile nature of the building experience. Upon its launch, the set was well-regarded by collectors and parents for its vibrant color scheme and the successful translation of a recognizable community space into the Lego system.
