Where it came from
Released in 2015 as part of the Lego Friends theme, Mia's Roadster (set 41091) was designed to expand the play potential of the Heartlake City collection. The set focuses on a small, purple convertible intended for the Mia mini-doll, reflecting the themes of hobbies and vehicles common to the line during this period. It was created to provide a buildable, affordable entry point for fans to explore the daily lives of the core Friends characters.
The aesthetic of the set follows the signature Friends color palette, utilizing bright shades and rounded, friendlier brick shapes that shifted away from the traditional squared-off designs of classic Lego systems. It was well-received by the target demographic for its inclusion of unique accessories, such as a camera and sunglasses, which emphasized the narrative-driven nature of the Friends sets. Its design priorities focused on playability and ease of assembly, fitting seamlessly into the larger modular world of Heartlake City.
