Where it came from
The 4032-3 Holiday Jet was released in 1989 as part of a series of promotional building sets produced for EL AL Israel Airlines. These sets were designed to be sold or distributed as in-flight souvenirs, catering to the growing market of airline-branded merchandise during the late 1980s. The design reflects the minimalist aesthetic of early LEGO promotional sets, focusing on recognizable shapes using a small piece count.
The model was designed to capture the iconic silhouette of a commercial passenger jet, utilizing a limited color palette of blue and white to match the EL AL livery of that era. While the designer remains uncredited in public archives, the set followed the standard practice of the time for custom airline promotional pieces. It was well-received by collectors for its niche status as a licensed promotional item, serving as a distinct departure from standard retail LEGO sets.
