Hoth AT-ST

The Hoth AT-ST, released in 2022 as part of the Lego Star Wars theme, serves as a specialized representation of the All Terrain Scout Transport as it appeared in the Battle of Hoth during the opening sequence of The Empire Strikes Back. While the walker is more famously associated with the forest moon of Endor, its brief, atmospheric appearance in the frigid landscape of Hoth provided the inspiration for this specific set. It was designed to provide a more detailed and articulated mid-scale build than previous iterations, reflecting a modern shift in Lego design toward balancing display aesthetics with playability.

The set was developed by the Lego design team to capture the industrial, utilitarian design of the vehicle while incorporating the snowy aesthetic of the Hoth environment through its included minifigures and base. It features the signature 'chicken walker' silhouette with movable legs and a rotating cockpit head, a mechanical hallmark of the Imperial fleet. Upon its release, the set was well-received by collectors for its improved structural stability and the inclusion of Chewbacca and Hoth-specific pilot figures, which allowed builders to recreate the fleeting but iconic encounter between the walkers and the Rebel defensive lines.
