Luke Skywalker's Landspeeder

Released in 2022 as part of the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series, this set recreates the X-34 landspeeder first seen in the 1977 film A New Hope. The design was intended to serve as a premium display piece for adult builders, capturing the weathered, utilitarian aesthetic of the vehicle as it appeared on the desert planet of Tatooine. It features a sophisticated build technique to achieve the craft's iconic curved, open-cockpit profile, which had previously proved difficult to render accurately at smaller scales.

The set includes a detailed display plaque and two minifigures, Luke Skywalker and C-3PO, marking the first time the latter was produced with specialized dual-molded legs to reflect the sand-covered details from the film. Designed by LEGO model designer César Soares, the piece emphasizes the technical complexity and structural integrity required to maintain its sleek lines. Upon its release, it was well-received by the collector community for its faithful representation of the source material and its creative use of parts to simulate the landspeeder's unique engine housing.
