Where it came from
The Duplo Ice Cream Truck, set number 10586-1, was released in 2015 as part of the Lego Duplo Town theme. Designed specifically for toddlers aged two to five, the set focuses on accessible play patterns, featuring larger, chunky bricks that are easy for small hands to manipulate. It reflects the brand’s longstanding strategy of introducing young children to creative construction through relatable, everyday scenarios like neighborhood service vehicles.
The design prioritizes durability and safety, adhering to the standard Duplo aesthetic characterized by bold primary colors and rounded edges. The set includes a buildable truck chassis, a driver figure, and ice cream-themed elements intended to encourage imaginative role-play. Upon its release, it was well-received by parents and educators as a straightforward, engaging educational tool for developing fine motor skills and social-emotional storytelling.
