Where it came from
The LEGO City Ice-Cream Truck, set 60253, was released in early 2020 as part of the long-running LEGO City theme. Designed to capture the whimsy of summer street life, it reflects the brand's commitment to creating approachable, play-oriented models that mirror everyday urban experiences. The set includes a modern, stylized vehicle with a prominent ice cream cone topper, an ice cream vendor minifigure, and a dog, focusing on modular playability and ease of assembly for younger builders.
The design emphasizes a vibrant color palette and a clear, functional aesthetic typical of the 2020 City lineup. While it serves as an accessible entry point for new collectors, it is notable for its attention to detail, such as the slide-open service window and the colorful printed graphics on the van exterior. It was received favorably by the community for its cheerful design and its ability to integrate seamlessly into existing suburban-themed LEGO displays.
