Where it came from
The Ice Tank, released under the set number 30427-1, is a promotional polybag set that emerged in 2016 as part of the LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu product line. It was designed as a compact, entry-level build representing a vehicle used by the protagonist Zane, the Ninja of Ice. The design focuses on a rugged, tracked aesthetic that reflects the character's elemental affinity, utilizing a blend of blue and white elements to evoke a frozen landscape while incorporating typical Ninjago mechanical styling.
This set was widely distributed as a promotional item, often appearing as a gift-with-purchase in retail stores or as a companion to the broader Day of the Departed wave. Because it was intended as a small-scale seasonal release rather than a primary retail box set, it was designed for accessibility and quick assembly. It remains a notable piece for enthusiasts of the Ninjago series, serving as a functional, miniature iteration of the larger vehicle models that characterized the theme's high-action, gear-driven design language.
