Where it came from
Released in 2016 as part of the tie-in merchandise for the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the Imperial Assault Hovertank (set 75152) represents the combat vehicles deployed by the Galactic Empire during the occupation of Jedha. The set was designed to capture the utilitarian, grounded aesthetic of the film, which sought to bridge the visual gap between the gritty military hardware of the original trilogy and modern production standards.
The model was designed to mirror the TX-225 GAVw Occupier combat assault tank seen in the film, focusing on features like the rotating turret and adjustable side weapons. Upon its release, the set was well-regarded by collectors for its accurate depiction of the tank's rugged, armored chassis and the inclusion of key minifigures like Chirrut Îmwe, which allowed fans to recreate the urban skirmishes depicted in the Jedha city sequences.
