Where it came from
The Imperium Guard set, designated 892404-1, was released as a promotional polybag associated with the LEGO Ninjago 'Dragons Rising' season. It serves as a representation of the antagonists from the Imperium, a technological and authoritarian empire introduced in this narrative arc. The design focuses on the standard-issue infantry of the Imperium, featuring a minifigure equipped with distinctive metallic-toned armor and a specialized energy blade accessory.
The set follows the traditional design language of the Ninjago theme, which balances traditional martial arts motifs with futuristic or steampunk aesthetics. By providing a low-cost entry point for collectors to acquire the Imperium's rank-and-file soldiers, the set was intended to allow fans to build out the ranks of opposing forces during play sessions. It was primarily distributed through retail promotions and seasonal events rather than as part of a standard retail wave, which has made it a specific point of interest for completionist minifigure collectors.
