Where it came from
The LEGO Marvel Infinity Gauntlet, released in 2021 as part of the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes theme, was designed to cater to the growing adult collector market. It depicts the iconic weapon from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically designed to capture the intricate metallic aesthetic of Thanos's glove. The set features a display stand and a nameplate, signaling its primary intent as a premium display piece rather than a traditional toy for play.
The design process focused on utilizing various shades of gold-colored elements to achieve the weathered, metallic texture required to mimic the appearance seen in the films. The knuckles are adorned with six colorful bricks representing the Infinity Stones. Upon its release, it was generally well-received by the adult building community for its stable structure and its role in establishing a series of high-end, helmet-and-object displays that define the modern LEGO collector aesthetic.
