Jim Spaceborn 2 - The Kidnappers from Swamp Planet

Jim Spaceborn 2: The Kidnappers from Swamp Planet was released as part of a mid-1970s toy line produced by the German manufacturer Geobra Brandstätter. This set reflects the period's cultural fascination with space exploration and science fiction, aiming to capture the imagination of children by offering an affordable, modular play experience that predated the more standardized plastic construction systems that would later dominate the market.

The design of the set focuses on a narrative-driven aesthetic, characterized by simple, blocky figures and rudimentary space accessories that favored playability over intricate realism. While the line did not achieve the global ubiquity of later plastic toy sets, it remains a notable example of European toymaking history from the decade, recognized by collectors today for its distinctive retro-futuristic styling and the charmingly utilitarian approach to early space-themed figure design.
