Where it came from
Jimi Stringer was released in 2004 as part of the LEGO Clickits line, a short-lived collection focused on wearable, customizable jewelry and accessories marketed primarily to young girls. Designed to be assembled and disassembled, these sets used a unique snap-on mechanism that moved away from traditional building bricks toward fashion-oriented, modular aesthetic play.
The design of the Jimi Stringer, characterized by its vibrant, guitar-inspired motifs and rock-and-roll visual language, reflected the early 2000s trend of DIY accessory kits. While the Clickits line was intended to compete with existing craft-based toy markets, it was received with mixed success, ultimately being discontinued as LEGO shifted its focus back toward its core construction-based products.
