Where it came from
The King's Cape with Fur, identified as set 851895-1, originated from the specialized accessories and character add-on lines produced by the LEGO Group during the late 1990s. These sets were designed to enhance existing castle-themed displays, providing modular textile elements that allowed collectors to customize the appearance of medieval-themed minifigures beyond the standard plastic molded accessories.
The design of this piece emphasizes a classic regal aesthetic, utilizing a deep red fabric cut to drape over minifigure shoulders, accented with a printed or synthetic fur trim to signify status. While these textile accessories were not part of the core building sets, they were well-received by the collector community for adding tactile variety and narrative detail to historical dioramas.
