Where it came from
Krog was released in 2015 as part of the first series of LEGO Mixels, a collaborative project between The LEGO Group and Cartoon Network. The line was designed to feature small, buildable characters from various tribes, with Krog serving as a member of the rock-themed Cragsters tribe. These figures were conceived as an experimental, low-cost series that encouraged creativity through modular assembly and a distinct, expressive aesthetic inspired by animation.
The design of the Cragsters was led by LEGO designers aiming to capture a rugged, industrial personality within a compact build. Upon release, the Mixels line was well-received for its unique character-driven approach, which diverged from traditional playsets. The theme resonated with both children and adult collectors due to its accessible price point and the ability to combine three different sets from a single tribe into a larger 'Max' model.
