Where it came from
Released in 2008 as part of the LEGO seasonal series, the Lamb (set 40064-1) was designed as a small-scale, polybagged building kit intended for spring festivities. It reflects LEGO's tradition of producing thematic, low-cost sets to coincide with holidays, offering a simple and accessible building experience that focuses on recognizable animal silhouettes rather than complex mechanical functions.
The model utilizes a limited palette of white and tan bricks to capture the essence of a lamb, utilizing standard system bricks to create a stylized, blocky aesthetic characteristic of late-2000s promotional sets. While the designer remains uncredited in public documentation, the set is widely regarded by collectors as a nostalgic example of early seasonal polybags, prized for its simplicity and the specific charm of its minimalist design.
