Where it came from
LEGO Minifigures Series 27, released in 2025, represents the latest installment in a long-standing tradition of blind-bagged collectible characters. This series continues the design philosophy established in 2010, which aims to provide niche, highly detailed, and often humorous characters that deviate from the standard licensed themes found in larger building sets. The design team focuses on incorporating unique accessories and dual-molded pieces that allow for storytelling within a small, accessible format.
The 66795-1 box set was introduced as a logistical variation for retailers and collectors, bundling six individual blind bags into one unit. This format reflects a broader shift in how the LEGO Group manages their collectible lines, moving from traditional foil bags toward paper-based, eco-friendly packaging that maintains the element of surprise. The series has been received by the enthusiast community as a quintessential 'palette cleanser,' offering creative designs that highlight the versatility of the minifigure medium.
