Where it came from
LEGO My Style: Preschool was released in 2000 as part of the LEGO Media software catalog, representing an experimental period when the company sought to translate the physical building experience into interactive digital education. Developed during the height of the early educational software boom, this title was designed specifically for young children to engage with basic developmental concepts through the lens of the LEGO brand's recognizable aesthetic and character designs.
The software was crafted to offer a guided, low-stakes environment, focusing on creative play rather than rigid objectives. By utilizing simplified, intuitive controls, the designers aimed to replicate the tactile satisfaction of clicking bricks together while navigating digital landscapes. Although it was a niche entry within LEGO's broader multimedia expansion, it is remembered for its distinct visual transition between physical toy construction and early 2000s computer-generated animation.
