Where it came from
The LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar, set number COMCON015-1, was produced as an extremely limited promotional item for the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con. It served as a rare preview of the first official LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar, which would see a wider retail release later that year. The set was designed to build anticipation among the convention's core demographic of dedicated collectors and Star Wars enthusiasts, functioning as a high-value exclusive for attendees.
The design of this promotional box mirrored the aesthetic of the forthcoming mass-market version, featuring festive, holiday-themed Star Wars iconography that blended the franchise’s science fiction elements with traditional seasonal motifs. Because it was distributed in such small quantities exclusively at the event, it became an immediate target for completist collectors. Its reception was defined by its status as a quintessential 'grail' item within the LEGO Star Wars community, representing the intersection of event-specific memorabilia and the brand's expansive holiday-themed product lines.
