Where it came from
Released in 2020 by DK Publishing, this updated edition of the LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia serves as a comprehensive reference guide to the minifigures produced within the long-running LEGO Star Wars theme. It was designed to coincide with the twentieth anniversary of the partnership between The LEGO Group and Lucasfilm, aiming to catalog the evolution of character design and printing techniques that have defined the product line since its inception in 1999.
The volume features photography of various minifigures alongside detailed annotations regarding their appearance, sets of origin, and unique accessories. It was compiled with the input of LEGO design enthusiasts and franchise experts to provide a definitive account for collectors. The book is perhaps most notable for including an exclusive 'Darth Maul' minifigure, which was designed to celebrate the character's appearance in the early years of the theme and remains a highlight for those documenting the history of the collaboration.
