Where it came from
The LEGO World of Bricks set 6112-2 was released in the late 1990s as part of an educational initiative designed to introduce children to the structural versatility of the basic LEGO system. Unlike sets themed around specific intellectual properties, this collection focused on the fundamental joy of free-form building, providing a curated selection of core elements intended to encourage spatial reasoning and creative problem-solving.
The design philosophy behind the set emphasized a functional aesthetic, prioritizing a balanced palette of primary colors and standard brick dimensions. By stripping away complex accessories and specialized pieces, the developers aimed to return to the core LEGO experience. The set was received as a reliable resource for hobbyists and educators alike, serving as a foundational toolkit that remains relevant to those interested in the history of standard brick-based construction.
