Where it came from
The LEGO Star Wars Mandalorian Fighter set 30241 was released in 2013 as a polybag promotional item. It was designed to capture the distinctive aesthetic of the starfighters featured in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, specifically the Pre Vizsla-led Death Watch vessels. This miniature scale set was aimed at providing collectors with an accessible, compact recreation of the vehicle's unique dual-wing geometry.
The design emphasizes the iconic pivoting wings of the craft, which are meant to switch between landing and flight modes. While polybag sets of this era were primarily intended as impulse buys or promotional store incentives, this particular model was well-received by fans of the theme for its surprisingly accurate representation of the ship's complex silhouette despite its limited piece count.
