Where it came from
Released in 2017 as part of the Lego Duplo Cars 3 sub-theme, Mater's Shed was designed to capture the playful, industrious spirit of the Radiator Springs setting from the Disney-Pixar film franchise. This set focuses on the character Mater, featuring a buildable version of his iconic tow truck garage, complete with a tool rack and road signs, scaled specifically for the hands of toddlers.
The design emphasizes accessibility and tactile play, utilizing the larger, chunkier bricks characteristic of the Duplo system to ensure safety and ease of use for young builders. By recreating a familiar location from the Cars films, the set aims to foster creative roleplay and motor skill development, receiving appreciation from parents for its simple construction and its faithful, colorful depiction of the film's source material.
