Where it came from
The Mime minifigure was released in early 2017 as part of the Lego Batman Movie Series 1, a collectible minifigure line designed to coincide with the theatrical release of the film. This series was unique for its high volume of obscure characters pulled directly from the Batman lore, aiming to capture the whimsical and colorful aesthetic established by the movie's art direction.
The figure features a distinct printed torso and face design intended to mimic the classic black-and-white theatrical mime aesthetic, accessorized with a signature fabric baguette element. It was designed by the Lego design team to provide fans with a niche antagonist, and it was generally well-received by collectors who appreciated the commitment to representing even the most minor characters from the Batman universe.
