Where it came from
The Mime minifigure was introduced in 2010 as part of the inaugural LEGO Minifigures Series 2. The concept behind this collection was to offer a diverse array of unique, stylized characters that did not belong to a specific licensed theme, allowing designers to experiment with character tropes and detailed printing techniques that were not common in standard set releases.
Designed to capture the quintessential performance artist, the figure features a classic black and white striped shirt, white gloves, and a face print highlighting the traditional stage makeup. It was well-received by the community for its expressive design and the inclusion of a specialized black beret, establishing it as a memorable entry in the early days of the collectible series.
