Where it came from
The LEGO Star Wars MTT, set 911616-1, was released in 2016 as a promotional foil-pack polybag. Designed as a micro-scale representation of the Multi-Troop Transport vehicle featured in The Phantom Menace, it was distributed through LEGO Star Wars magazines in Europe, reflecting a strategy to offer compact, buildable tributes to iconic prequel-era hardware for younger fans and collectors.
The model captures the distinctive bulky, elongated shape of the Trade Federation's troop carrier despite its diminutive size. By utilizing a small selection of tan and brown elements, the designers effectively replicated the craft's functional aesthetic. While it lacks the complexity of larger system-scale versions, it was well-received by the community for its accurate color palette and the clever use of limited parts to convey the essence of the screen-accurate design.
