Where it came from
The M&T The North-Pole Squad, designated as set NORTHPOLE-1, emerged as a specialized seasonal offering. These sets were designed to capture the whimsy of festive folklore, focusing on character-driven builds intended for holiday display or narrative play. The collection reflects a period of expansion for the brand, where they sought to diversify their portfolio by moving beyond traditional licensed themes into original, thematic seasonal concepts.
The design of the squad emphasizes an approachable, rounded aesthetic, utilizing a distinct color palette centered on classic holiday tones. The creators aimed to balance structural simplicity with expressive character features, ensuring the figures were easily recognizable and engaging for younger builders. Upon release, the set was noted for its cohesive presentation, filling a niche for festive-themed builds that appealed to families looking for seasonal traditions outside of standard commercial franchises.
